Hey Tribe,
Welcome back!
It doesn’t matter what you are trying to achieve.
Start a blog
A company
Write a book
Try to get more or better sex
Your brain will always come up with rationalizations why it might not work.
And you stop before you even started.
The hamster
This is actually a term coined by the Manosphere for women. The rationalization hamster is a man’s best tool. It’s a woman’s imagination going crazy, trying to figure out what’s going on when you leave her in the dark about your intentions. Or if you see other women. She’ll come up with all sorts of shit what you’re doing.
This makes her attracted to you.
Because you are on her mind.
However, men have a hamster as well, but it works differently.
We don’t care so much about what the girl thinks of us, but we overthink what destiny, the universe, or society will do to our plans.
Fear of success is a real thing.
When I was writing the 40 starting articles for my new blog to launch, I was thinking, “What if people truly enjoy my content? I NEED to write articles at least once a week, a new youtube video at least once a month? Can I do that? Will it cost too much time?”
If I would’ve gave in to those thoughts I might’ve stopped writing right there and never launched the blog.
A lot of people end up in that abyss.
“What if it truly blows up? People might hate me? Find my address? Get me banned on Twitter etc?”
All this shit is in your mind, trying to stop you from putting in energy.
Why?
Conservation
Your mind tries to conserve as much energy as possible. Making tough decisions is draining. Dealing with hate and hundreds of people asking you shit is draining.
So your mind comes up with rationalizations as to why actually being successful might not be that good.
Rather be in your current state, where you really don’t do much.
To save energy.
Yes, being successful does have its drawbacks, and costs. But it also has its benefits. You get to spread your message, make money, buy cool things, don’t need to worry about bills, get to meet cool people, network, etc etc.
While these things do feel nice, they come at a price, and you don’t REALLY need them. You can survive in your current state just fine. That’s what your brain thinks.
But barely surviving isn’t living.
The fight of fights
The hardest fight there is, is against yourself. Fighting your deeper urges to preserve energy. That is your basis. You need to train yourself to actively use bodily energy to do stuff you want. That might make your successful.
And you need to realize the thoughts in your mind trying to stop you.
These thoughts will likely never stop. I’m sure even Elon Musk has second guesses about how to preserve his energy.
You just need to realize why your brain is sending these signals.
Develop a third person view of your own mind.
And then overcome that wall of fear.
Because why are you afraid of something that isn’t even there yet?
Or even likely?
In your current state where you do nothing, you’re just potential. Potential to be successful at some point. But since you’re not working towards it, you’re afraid of something which is very unlikely right now.
So stop being afraid of that and make it likely!
So your fear might actually have reasons to be there.
And then overcome them!
Realizing how something works is the best way to change the system.
Change the thoughts in your head from fear and preserving energy to USING energy for good and willpower.
And sooner or later, everything will fall into place.
Cheers,
